
Thomas Readett began playing cello at age eight and grew up playing in the Thames Valley Youth Symphony in New London, Connecticut. Thomas is completing a dual master's degree in cello performance and music education at Teachers College, Columbia University, and Manhattan School of Music under the instruction of Marion Feldman and Wolfram Koessel. Thomas has also coached with Bonnie Hampton, Johannes Moser, Marcy Rosen, Terry King, Natasha Brofsky, and Philip Ying.
Thomas has performed internationally in the prestigious Carnegie & Jordan Halls, the Estates Theatre in Prague, the Riverside Church, and Karpati Hall of New York City.

Thomas’s Festival appearances include Domaine Forget, Prague Summer Nights Opera and the LyricaFest. Since 2018, Thomas has served as an administrative assistant for the Manhattan in the Mountains Chamber Music Festival. Thomas presently serves as Assistant Principal cellist of the Lyrica Chamber Orchestra and Citizen’s Artist Ensemble of which he is also the group’s recording engineer.

Thomas teaches at the RiverArts of Hasting on Hudson as well as the Waldorf School of Brooklyn, NY, and Opportunity Music School of Manhattan. Over the past 4 years, Tom has had the honor of observing his mentor, Marion Feldman pre-college students at the Manhattan School of Music.
